This week I’m planning on purchasing the seeds for my dye garden! Spring is near, and now is the time to start planting seedlings, which will germinate and bloom for summer! I have so many ideas already, and I can’t wait to try grow some new seeds! Here’s what’s on my list:

-coreopsis

-red dahlias

-woad

-weld

-marigolds

-st johns wort

i‘m sure I’ll find more seeds the more I research, but I feel this will be a good start for my little dye garden.

Marigolds give beautiful yellows, oranges and greens

Coreopsis will give you beautiful yellows, reds and oranges. It is a ph sensitive dye so you can shift the colours yourself

Weld gives wonderful golden yellows

Woad gives beautiful blues, similar to indigo

Red dahlias give vibrant reds

Reds, pinks, yellows and greens can be given by St. John’s wort
